Fascinating things can occur when something is left alone. Mold grows while no one is watching and the results produce an accumulation of colors, textures, and forms. It is this accumulation that informs my current body of work. Using vitreous enamel, I attempt to replicate the mold I find most beautiful. The molds delicacy, along with the seemingly erratic nature in which it grows, has influenced my manipulation of materials. I hope to bring others to see mold as something aesthetically stimulating and separate from what it is usually the result of - decomposition.
